A score calculated from a specification tells you what a racquet is. It cannot tell you what it feels like in the fourth set. That is what these people are for — coaches with a qualification you can check, a club you can ring, and players they have actually put the equipment in front of.
Before a coach appears in this section we check four things and record the date we checked them: the qualification they hold and the body that issued it, the club or academy they coach at, a biography in their own words, and any conflict of interest — a brand they are contracted to, equipment they were given. Where one exists it is printed on every review they write, not hidden in a footnote.
No coach is paid by us for a review and no brand can place one. A trainer who is sponsored by a manufacturer can still review that manufacturer's equipment here, and the page will say so above the first sentence.
