GDPR — your privacy
This page explains what TennisArena.eu does with information about you, in plain words. The short version: the site works without an account, we do not sell anything about you, and the only measurement that runs does so after you have said yes to it. Everything below is the detail behind that sentence, and the rights you have under the GDPR.
Who is responsible for your data
TennisArena.eu is the controller for the personal data described on this page. Questions about anything here, and any request to use the rights listed further down, go to the contact address published in the footer of every page. We answer within one month, which is the period the GDPR allows.
What we collect, and why
Reading the site: nothing that identifies you. There is no account, no login and no profile. Writing to us: your name, your email address and what you wrote, kept so we can answer you and so we can trace a correction back to whoever reported it. Subscribing to updates: your email address and the date you confirmed it — nothing else, and nothing is sent until you have clicked the confirmation link. Rating a product: your rating and, if you choose to give one, a display name.
Cookies, and the one that measures
Two cookies are set without asking, because the site cannot work without them: one keeps your session (it is what remembers the products you put in the comparison tray), and one records the answer you gave to the cookie banner so you are not asked again. Neither tracks you anywhere else. Analytics is separate: it loads only after you accept it, and declining leaves it switched off. You can change that answer at any time on the cookie policy page. Advertising
Advertising space on this site is currently unsold — the slots you see are placeholders offering the space, not adverts. When advertising does run, an advertising network may set its own cookies or use a similar identifier in your browser to decide which advert to show and to count whether it was seen. That is a separate purpose from anything else on this page, it will be listed here and in the cookie policy before it goes live, and where consent is required it will be asked for through the same banner rather than assumed.
Who else sees anything
The company that hosts the site, because the site runs on their servers. The analytics provider, but only if you accepted analytics. Nobody else. We do not sell personal data, we do not trade mailing lists, and we do not pass your email address to a shop or a brand. Clicking a link to a shop takes you to that shop, and from that point their own privacy notice applies rather than this one.
How long we keep it
A message sent through the contact form is kept for two years, so that a correction can still be traced to its source. A subscription is kept until you unsubscribe, and every email carries the link that does it. An email address that never confirms is deleted after thirty days. Server logs are kept for a short period for security and are not used to build a profile of anybody.
Your rights, and how to use them
You can ask what we hold about you and get a copy of it; ask us to correct something wrong; ask us to delete it; ask us to stop using it for a particular purpose; and withdraw a consent you gave, which for analytics is one button on the cookie policy page. Write to the contact address in the footer and say which of these you want — you do not need to give a reason or use any particular wording. If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to your national data protection authority; in Bulgaria that is the Commission for Personal Data Protection.
Children
This site is written for adults buying tennis equipment and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anybody under sixteen. If you believe a child has sent us their details through the contact or subscription form, tell us and we will delete it.
Changes to this page
When what we do changes, this page changes before the change goes live rather than after. The date at the bottom is when it was last edited. There is no version of this notice that lives anywhere else — this page is the notice.
